Last week I was fortunate enough to be a part of the celebrations for Brisbane’s newest member of the foodie and night scene! Without being told, you may not have been aware that there is a noodle station, express takeaway, exquisite fine dining and well and some funky bar space in place to be quite the feature – Nest really is an all-in-one.
The impeccably designed interior sets a relaxed, yet refreshingly authentic vibe. With eclectic decor which accentuated the versatility of the dining options available, yet still allowed the restaurant to flow wholly as one.
Walking through the entrance you will be greeted by lush upholstered seating and stunning views of the city, then to be followed by an impressive house cocktail menu and wine list (if thats what you are into – is anyone not?). The lighting arrangements are captivating both inside and out, with a variety of lamps hanging from the ceiling for a relaxed tonal effect, but also with a beautifully adorned red lantern tree, complimenting the views of the CBD.
With great views and seriously comfortable seating, you can only be hoping that the food will live up to the venue – rest assured, it most certainly does. High quality, yet reasonably priced, authentic asian and Australian fusion menu! Most impressively implementing a sustainable rooftop garden, you ca be guaranteed of fresh ingredients and flavour. From the pre-view tasting, I could not get past the flavour of the Duck and Pear Salad and the abundant amount of the freshest contents of the laksa!
The Asian cuisine is most definitely my weak spot, but i do understand its not for all – and so does Nest, which is why there is some traditiona/fusion dishes available, like the burger, pizza and cheese platters on the dessert menu (NO COMPLAINTS!!)
The sustainability of the cocktail menu is just as appealing as the cocktails themselves. Implementing roof top honey produced with Bee One Third organisation, with a selection of impressive house specials! Oh, and if you are down for a cocktail, don’t feel rushed, they serve food until late (anyone else living the struggle when your famished and don’t make dining times?).
I had a fabulous time meeting the team and learning the passion and drive behind this new and exciting venue! I have no doubt Roma St is about to flourish into a prominent hot spot after the launch of this fabulous dining/social edition!
The Nest is located on Level 2 at Hotel Jen at 159 Roma St, Brisbane (you can access it from walking to the City end of the Roma St Cafeteria or from the over head bridge that leads to Roma St!).
