If you haven’t heard about the Stones Corner Festival, where have you been these past few weeks?! Essentially, the Festival replaced the World Food Markets (yes, the ones which popped up at the Brisbane Powerhouse late last year) and hit Stone’s Corner for music, fun and of course – food! While some of Brisbane’s Best Food Trucks hit the pavement, the restaurants and cafes within the local foodie hub were also a part of the festivities! If you unfortunately missed them, then its best advised to check out their Faceboook for all the events in between and the lead up for next year!
Speaking of cafes, if you haven’t been along to the Stones Corner Hotel recently, the Stones Corner Festival’s success is definitely an indication that its time to pop in and check out their revamped spaces and taste test their new menu!
This menu is something special; with pages of options (yes…pages!) there is most certainly something for everyone. This is a place where you could organise a group gathering and you can rest assure that everyone will leave satisfied at the end of the night – including us health focused folk!
Now it was REALLY tough to pick favourites (as there were a few!) but to tantalise your tastebuds there were a few note worthy ‘top three healthy dishes’ from the Stones Corner Hotel winter menu* below:

1. Graziers 200g Eye Fillet
(mushroom sauce on the side please) with Seasonal Vegetables sautéed in garlic and olive oil and a baked potato (hold the bacon and sour cream please)
> Healthy Tip: Asking for your sauce on the side, you can control how much sauce you prefer.
> Healthy Tip: Don’t be scared to request tweaks to your meal. A baked potato without the bacon and sour cream is a great healthy alternative with a little tweaking.
2. Haloumi and Honey Roasted Pumpkin Salad
With roasted baby beets, honey roasted pumpkin, baby spinach, roasted Spanish onion, and grilled haloumi, finished with a light lemon dressing (dressing on the side please).
> Healthy Tip: Asking for your dressing on the side, you can control how much dressing you prefer.
3. Blackened Salmon Cajun Style
Fresh Atlantic salmon seared in Cajun spice finished with a lemon caper beurre blanc and served with garlic mash and seasonal vegetables
[Healthy Tip: Thinking of a healthy beverage to enjoy with dinner? As shared previously on Kbsugarfree instagram in early May, ask the bar tender to get creative! Why not request they mix you a mocktail using soda water and crushed fruit instead of soft-drink and cordials?]

It’s important to remember that you CAN eat out and eat healthy. Don’t be shy…sometimes you just need to be creative and ask for tweaks here and there, and Stones Corner Hotel are happy to accommodate where they can.
