There’s nothing better than enjoying a beautiful lunch by the water. Am I right? Well, it doesn’t get much better than the Riverbar and Kitchen in terms of delicious food, great views, awesome vibes and friendly staff. Their slogan ‘there’s no place you’d rather be,’ couldn’t be more accurate, especially with their new Winter menu!
Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner all 7 days, the Eagle Street Pier restaurant is the perfect spot for a delicious meal whilst taking in the Brisbane River and iconic Story Bridge.
While the popular and well-crafted cocktail range is a well known feature of Riverbar and Kitchen, their food menu is equally as impressive, especially from a health perspective! Most importantly, the staff are happy to help out us health conscious foodies and will suggest meals and drinks that are best for our happy tummy’s – they even personally ensured sugarfree drinks!
Have I got your attention yet? I thought so.
To keep the excitement going, all three food menu’s have a broad range of fresh and gourmet options that are healthy and nutritious! You can check out the menu online, where you will spot some key ingredients popping from the menu, including (but not limited to!) superfoods! Yep, our mates kale & quinoa are featured plus some other highly nutritional (and delicious) ingredients like lentils, chickpeas, brussel sprouts and a plentiful range of vegetables.
There are a number of refreshing green salads for sides or mains, most highly recommended is the Red witlof, grapefruit, watercress, sumac, chilli and peanut salad. This dish encapsulates Winter produce made both nourishing and fresh + the grapefruit will make you miss those summer vibes!
In terms of mains you can never go past fish for a filling and wholesome option. Trout? Check! Barramundi? Check! The waitstaff recommended the trout and they sure hit the nail on the head with that one! Served grilled with sumac, quinoa, yogurt and radish, not only is this dish stunningly presented but was both nourishing, satisfying and most importantly, delicious! Other proteins include roast chicken, sirloin and braised pork belly. Most impressively only one of seven main options (the classic fish and chips) were crossed off a healthy to-eat-list, with the remaining making it very difficult to choose from!
Sides were equally as impressive as mains, with enough to satisfy a large group for healthy tapas! Green salads and kale once again are choices, but you can’t ever go past a side of roast root vegetables! Riverbar’s veggies warm the Winter soul along side any of the mains and you will all be thankful for the change from the typical chips/salad (though for those classic at heart, these are still available)!
Even on a rainy day there is no denying that in the quest for a delicious and healthy Winter menu, Eagle Street Pier’s Riverbar and Kitchen should definitely be on your list!
