You have probably seen the #droolworthy photos circulating on Insta but what about the health verdict on West End’s Morning After?
Well, to put it simply, it’s a YES from us and for the following reasons:
- All produce is local and particularly supportive of Brisbane businesses like Bee One Third (rooftop honey) and The Unrefined (sugar free granola)
- The food is unique but kept unrefined, because the chefs allow the high quality produce to speak for itself.
- It’s mostly sugar free but still offers a little indulgence for those seeking it
- The interior makes us feel super clean, chic & healthy #fitspo #inspo
Not being an avid avo on toast fan, Morning After’s menu phrased it like no other and made the dish essentially irresistible. Alas ‘Smashed avocado on multigrain, garden peas, goats cheese & volcanic black salt’ – can you say no to that? I don’t think so. Probably mostly due to the fact that I love peas #bringbackthepeas.
Secondly, can you go past house made Boston beans for breakfast? Possibly not. Can you pass up succulent pork belly with Boston beans for breakfast? Most definitely not. This dish nailed all expectations with plenty of crunch without making us feel super #guilty #nocheatmealshere.
Accompanied by freshly squeezed green juice (inc. kale), coffee and chai latte (#soyplease) to follow, we were feeling pretty darn impressed by the time it came to leave. In fact, we didn’t really want to leave. Rather, I could have sat at the stool bench top for another hour or so, watching passers by, reading the paper or perhaps wishing I had bought my laptop for a spot of catch-up blogging. Morning After’s interior just gives off that vibe that makes you want to chill out and be productive all at once. And it’s this vibe that makes this West End cafe the perfect way to start your weekend (or weekday, just pretty much whenever you need that pick me up).
